Ma
Doula
Your English speaking support
in Munich and around
There is something magical about being pregnant and bringing a little human to the world. But somehow we forgot how to follow the mum - cause if we give baby mamas space - they know what to do. My mission is to empower women to trust the whole process. To truly prepare you for what is coming.
As Your doula I will stay right by your side throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum, providing physical and mental comfort, while helping you and your partner feel calm, safe, and secure.
But what
is a doula?
When it comes to childbirth many people seem to know about midwives but I still get asked a lot about what a doula is. If you’re one of those uncertain ones don’t worry - I’ll fill you in.

The main difference between a doula and a midwife is that a midwife is a highly-trained medical professional - more like a nurse or doctor who deliver babies (in Germany they are your primary health providers). Midwife (Hebamme) is working in and with the system. Doula is rather an independent companion to support you emotionally, mentally and physically before, during and/or after birth. Doula does not replace a midwife but is trained to provide you with knowledge and support so you and your partner can feel prepared and cared for throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

I do not replace a midwife, but I am an extension - missing piece in your birth team.
Why MaDoula?
Madoula: the name of my practice is a play on words. “Matula” is a Polish word meaning “little mother”, “mummy” and “ma” is an old form of “my”, here emphasizing that I am YOUR doula. On top of that, “tulić” / ”otulić” (sounds like “doula” / “tula”) means to cuddle but also to care for someone.

This name represents everything I am:
A Polish mother that will care for you with love.
About
Me

Hi, I am Nella - DTI trained, English & Polish speaking, full-spectrum doula.
I was born and raised in Poland but for the last 3 years I have been living with my German husband in the south of Munich (Upper Bavaria) where we are raising our little boy. Before officially becoming a doula I had always been drawn to helping my friends get through their pregnancies. It’s been a long journey to understand and see that being a doula was my true calling.
Becoming parents can be exciting and joyful but it can also be challenging - especially at the start. From my own experience I know how hard the beginning of parenting can be (even if you feel more than ready). If you add to the mix being abroad it can get overwhelming. I want to serve you and your family by being by your side through it all. I can also help you build a community away from home by connecting you to other mamas to be in the area.
I want your pregnacy to be fun and uplifting. But at the same time I want to make you feel ready and take serious preparation. Cause as my mantras say:
„better safe than sorry" and "knowledge is power".
Offer
To be honest my mission as a doula is to prepare you and your partner for a birth where you believe you can do it on your own.
I will, however, support you in whatever way you need. I can stay right by your side throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum, providing physical and mental comfort. It is not a must that I am there for each part. Perhaps you prefer that I accompany you just during pregnancy or only after. It is your choice and I am here for you - whatever you choose. I do not jugde your choices and serve you with one-on-one individual support.

Testimonials

Working with Nella as our virtual doula was a wonderful experience, especially as we navigated pregnancy while moving countries. She was incredibly supportive, understanding, and never imposing. Her regular check-ins, thoughtful advice, and emotional support made a big difference. Nella created a space where I felt completely safe to ask questions and seek guidance—it was always easy to talk to her and open up. I’m so grateful for her calm, reassuring presence throughout this journey.

I’m so thankful for the postpartum support I received from Nella in Munich. After giving birth and losing quite a bit of blood, I felt weak and overwhelmed—but even just a few hours with Nella made a huge difference.
She gave me warm, nourishing food, cared for me so gently, and helped me feel calm and supported during those fragile hours. Her presence was exactly what I needed.
If you’re looking for kind, reliable postpartum support after birth in Munich, I highly recommend Nella. She’s truly amazing!

Great emotional support and a wealth of knowledge, which was truly important to me during pregnancy. Thanks to Nella, I received a lot of information that you simply can’t find online. Her empathy and warmth meant a lot to me. I knew I could always reach out to her or ask for advice. A wonderful collaboration. She made me feel seen, heard, and truly understood throughout the entire journey. I couldn’t have asked for better support during such a special and sometimes overwhelming time in my life.
